I was very surprised I made it as far as I did as well. I got into the 4th round and got bumped by that sweet black Gen 1 with ghost flames (I never got the guy's name). I lost by a little under a two tenths of a second at the end as both of us coasted to the traps.

This was a great event and whoever didn't go missed out. I will be in attendance next year, whereever it is.

Congrats to all the winners, all the new personal bests, and all those that are proud to have been part of the first year of this event!

I'm back from the "Lightningfest" 2,000 mile round trip through the 55-mile per hour zones of Colorado

Many of the L owners were disappointed of the turn out and how it was scheduled. Too Much gap between events, nothing to do while hanging at the track!

For all the money spent we should have had a BBQ every day or night.

The most fun of the day was the grudge racing after all the regular racing was done on Saturday night.

To clarify Tim@REM's issues, they had a computer problem not allowing them to make a Full Pass. If they could have made that pass a 9.99 or faster woud probably been scene.

Jim@JDM is a very stand up guy. He was offering help to get the Razors Edge Performance machine going. Nice to see Vendors working together....at least in the public Eye.

There was a big disappointment not seeing the JLP trucks and people were asking why they did not show? Any reasons?

This event should have been advertised by paper and the other ford online website.

Maybe next year.....well if there is a next year it can be an all F150 event.

I was told that only Lightning trucks could race and they allowed some guy in a 90's light blue extended cab with a supercharger on it run in the street lightning class...what's up with that?

I am disappointed about the Tech situation. Running Accel Gen 7 DFI should not hurt me and should have allowed me to run...not run against the worlds fastest lightning "pops" a 1,000 mile tow and no race YUK!

Next year bring this event to Texas where times will be faster, people are much nicer and they at least have a Hooters Were we can all get together and have a good time.

Anyone want my NLOC calander I won.......It sucks!

JLP and a few of his customers were at the NMRA finals in Bowling Green, KY. NMRA is JL's thing so I guess thats why he was there instead of Lightning Fest. From all the previous posts in this thread we had a better time in BG than you guys did at LF.

PS.....

Ford SVT brought out some of their car / trucks...and the prototype 2005 SVT lightning was there.....very cool............

The Boss Cobra 429 EFi car was in attandence

And ford was giving out those cool wall posters of the Gen 2's that are on sale on E-bay all the time for $12.00 to $20.00, but Fords were free to those in attandence!

Good Job Paul Gambino.....Nice runs....Super guy!

Everybody that was in attendance that I got the opportunity to speak to was great. All the conversation was superb and I had an excellent time.

Tell Dave I'll be on the lookout for him next year !

Any one that has ever tried to organize an event for the first time knows how much work goes into an event like Lightningfest. There will always be those that want to pick the event apart, but as a whole, I thought it was a great success and hope this was just the first of many. I think TALON had 16 trucks in attendance.

Just like anything else in life, you never get better if you don't do it the first time. (Least that's what I used to tell my old girlfriend or something). Great event and thanks to "Big D" and all those folks that put in the long hours to make it happen.
