For some reason I feel the need for more power.

I have a a 2002 Lightning with the following mods...

JLP 6# Lower
Denso IT-22's
Diabo Sport chip tuned by JLP
and Airaid intake with custom cold air set up.
Driveshaft loop
Hoosier QTP's

Would I be asking for trouble if I ran a 50 shot of N2O?

I sold my Camaro and need to run high 11's in something I run 12.6's @ 107mph with the current set up.

I dont have the money the get a built block and run a KB or works so N2O popped into my head.

So I have 3 questions...

1- Is a 6# lower and a 50 shot to much for the stock block? ( I would only use the nos at the track and only go to the track5 or 6 times a year so lets say 30 passes a year running N2O.


2- DFo I need my chip re-burned for the NOS or do I need different plugs.

3- What is the safest kit out there? I would go wet for sure. Is there a complete kit for our trucks? NX, NOS or Zex? Do any of these kits come with everything I need? PArt numbers would be great.

I'd talk to Sal, but I think he says that a 50shot with you #6 lower would be ok on the stock block (ASSUMING THAT YOU HAVE A SAFE TUNE!)

I'd suggest it only for occasional track use and probably only with race gas though, which may be hard to do. Because once you try the nitrous, you may find yourself wanting to spray people on the street!

im runnin a 6lb lower and a 75 shot with stock block and ohhhh boy is it addicitve....and yes you will want to start spraying on the street....been thru 3 10lb bottles without any problems....ive got zex dry kit by the way

 

Well my tune is "suppose" to be safe.

I would also take the bottle out for the streets because I know I would not have the willpower not to spray on the street.

Would I run 6lb and 50 shot? Yes... but not without upgraded fuel pumps, and get the thing on the dyno to MAKE SURE its safe. Plugs would have to be changed, and yes the program would have to be changed. You would want a lot less timing in your nitrous program than just a 6lb program. As for plugs, im not sure what plugs would be best for you.
