New Slick Issues Please Read

Took my new slicks and rims to the track last night. 28 x 10 x 16
Hoosiers on 16 x 10 Eagle 058's

Problem. Could only get a 1.9. This is my first time ever on slicks
3 passes 1.9 on each. Now I dont think I was heating them enough so that will be changed this weekend but......

We ran 18 lbs of air in them

The inside and outside edges are showing the got no wear or contact. and I got four like lines around the tread that roll with the tread, that looks like they only got contact.

Has anyone ever had this?

Looking for possible suggestions/solutions and proper inflation specs.

Oh also running Truck Tracs with about an inch of clearance on the snubbers!!

Thanks

Matt

HI NEIL!!

18 psi Is that when the tire is hot or cold?

I run 13 psi or so and thats when hot. I get 1.77 60 foot times give or take.

Good luck.

I'd drop them to 16psi and do a long burnout. Your first burnout on them should be really long, like count to 10 something. Get them really wet too and hold the brakes lightly. Just enough so that the truck doesn't move. If you hold them too tight, they won't spin fast enough. Leave it in drive and let it shift on it's own. No need to floor it enough to hit the rev limiter.
