Injectors/Pumps or both at 500+?

I was checking to see if it is the injectors, pumps, or both that need to be replaced at 500 +rwhp? Also what brand and pricing.
Thanks Mike

Just changing your injectors will be adaquate. The Siemens Deka 55#ers work great. They are 499 at modularmadness.com....

I know the pumps for sure, but I know there are a few guys making a hair over 500 more like 520rwhp with the stock injectors. I will be getting my truck on the dyno soon and I think I am making about 515-520rwhp. Running the stock injectors.

Justin

P.S. See you at the Lightning Shootout in Hallsville

Thanks guys.

Justin seeing me at the Hallsville shootout is about all I'll be doing with if I can't get some of my problems figured. I wish there was a place I could get on a dyno around here and do some tuning....

The 255 lph pumps are pretty reasonable (110 or so a piece) and are cheap insurance. We went with 50 lb. injectors and a 92 mm Pro-M meter to avoid having to calibrate around the stock one pegging. The truck made 535 rwhp safely (12-1 A/F ratio).

The consequences of running lean are a lot more expensive than pumps and injectors put together......

Well I'm not really sure it's fuel, BUT I could be wrong. I'm sure you remember me discussing my chip programs with you at FFW. Anyway my problems are at part throttle. Example you're doing 55 mph in OD and you give it some gas to go around another car, instead it wants to ping. I feel this has to be timing. I can run in the stock setting with no problems and I know it is leaner than my chip. I could see if I was at WOT and this occurred as I'm probably border line anyway. I could be wrong, but without something to datalog it is hard to tell. I'm sure I will have some WOT problems with fuel which I can deal with, but the part throttle has me confused on the problem. I have even used a Superchip I had lying around to check it and it did not ping under these condtions. It is calibrated for all my mods minus the Kenne Bell, but for the Eaton and a 6 psi pulley. I'm a little aggrivated about the deal because teh only Dyno around here moved and the tuner who's been doing my chip I can't get ahold of right now.

I guess I'll just have to pulley it back down for now

Thanks Mike

Pumps for sure, 50# injectors, are just extra insurance.

I did the two 255 cobra pumps and maxed my injectors at 496 hp, but not to mislead. I was pumping out 16lbs of boost from my KB.

My tuner told me to either keep the boost and buy the injectors or reduce the boost to see the 500+.

D-Day

Good Luck

I feel I'm in that boat. When I first got my KB I was under the impression the 3.5 inch pulley with my 9 inch lower would be 15 psi, but it is actually supposed to be 13.5. I originally wanted to run 15 psi for the street and 18 psi for the track. On my truck the 3.5 is only good for 11 psi, probably due to the exhaust. We decided to go to the 2 3/4 upper to get to 16-18 psi (not sure yet as I can't go WOT). I guess with all the other stuff my truck I may be making more like 550 and up at the wheels, and I may have been close to the 500 rwhp before the pulley swap.

Anyway it looks as though she'll have to sit for a little bit while I look at new pumps and injectors.

Thanks Mike
