C5 Vert AUTO vs. My Lightning...

Who will win??

My mods (engine wise) are :

2lber
JDM flipchip
K&N w/ airbox mod

I ran a 13.2 @ 105 w/ this setup, no traction either.

This girl with a black C5 auto convertible said she could beat me and my friend with a 312 hp S4.

Do I have a chance? This race is for money and for pride (I don't wanna get beat by a girl)...

Thanks guys!

Who ever gets traction should win. I would guess you should not have any trouble if you get traction.

If the race is a 1/4 mile, you might win. If it's 3/8's of a mile, you'll probably lose .

auto convertible C5's aren't all that fast, and they're heavier than the hard tops. hope it doesn't have a torque converter though. I'm guessing she'd do a 13.4 if she gets traction--stock

Actually, due the hydrformed frame, the C5 Vert is NO HEAVIER than a coupe! At any rate, I ran an Auto C5 Vert when my truck had only a chip, T-body, and Filter(NO pulley) about three weeks after I bought the truck. I waxed his a$$ from a dead stop and a 30 mph roll. As long as you hook, you should hand her, her a$$ It's called torque BABY Good Luck!

She will see your tail lights even if you were stock. I have raced many a modded c5's and won though I am stock. An auto will have no low end, and you will pull the whole way, don't second guess. You'll win. Get her number while you're at it

Those drivers must really be bad.

A well driven C5 hardtop would have you owned. a 35 hp advantage is more than outdone by the weight/aero difference.

you will walk the corvette.

If you line up, do it from a dead dig (take advantage of the Gobs of torque Lightnings make) and put a little money on it.

Now it it were a Z06 forget about it.
If it were a stick, it'd be closer

In 60 degree air I lost to a Z06 by 3-4 cars. I'm pretty sure I can beat this girl though. I am doing it mainly because she's one of those vette owners that thinks their car is God's gift to the Earth.

My dad has a '98 C5 convertible (Lightninrod saw it) with an automatic and I raced him several times before I installed my 4# pulley. I was running 13.5s to his 13.9s. That was his first time racing, so an experienced racer would have probably been a little faster. Oh yeah my MPH was also about 3 higher.
