You'll win no problem...I think the automatics come standard with a 298 gear?? something like that..I ran a vette C5 last week from a dig and put 3 cars on the guy...We talked and he was an ok guy but you could tell he was the typical percentage of snooty vette owners..He had a really nice vette, all black, blacked out tail lights, powdercoated black 2000 vette wheels and blacked out front fascia.. Also the car was lowered which made it even more intimidating.. He kept showing me everything about his car and didn't even look at my truck at all.. ..Personally if I got spanked by something unusual I'd wanna go take a look at it to find out why..

If it was the 6 speed with the 342 rear, I've heard with a good driver those can run 13.0-13.1s..

You'll win trust me..

This is how it goes...

From 0-105mph you will see the vette in your rear view mirror. At that point you will begin to see the vette closing on you rapidly. I know this from personal experience:o
Z-06 don't even try unless your modded in the mid to low 12's area.

I took a vert c5 Monday--and I'm not heavily modded. Deflate your tires a little--make sure they hook well and you're in business.

Also nailed an sc 430. That was even more fun.

I have a C5

If she got the C5 used, no telling what was done. Most C5 autos dyno at 300-315hp at the rears. A ram air setup adds 20-25hp-stock is very restrictive. The stock exh is huge and unless the car is seriously modded, aftermarket adds looks & nothing but noise-like our Lightnings.
Most auto C5's have a 2.73 rear and 3.15 is optional. Very easy to swap a 6spd 3.42 rear in, and no way to tell.
My low powered 2.73 auto went 13.4-13.6 1/4mi. Thats pretty normal. I cut the airbox w/K&N and shaved .2
Heres what you have to worry about... If somebody put in 3.42's(or 3.73,4.11) and swapped the converter; which 99% do at the same time, then you have a low 12sec C5-traction permitting.
There are alot of modded C5's out there, Ive seen stock ones w/NO2 run low 11's. Id much rather run a 6spd C5 from a dig than an auto w/my Lightning-they have traction issues.
Her car might be modded w/o her knowing-watch out
Since I got my Lightning,I dont drive the C5 much-the C5 is WAY faster but the L is more fun

Most Autos in the C5's run a lot slower then the 6 speeds for some reason. Its not like the F-bods where they are close. I have seen some Stock auto C5's hit low 13's but mostly they run 13.4's to 13.6's.

I would say the win will go to you on this one. Dont sleep on the line and dont spin to much and I can pretty much assure you a win.. That is unless it has mods.

PS, Tell her to keep her traction control on so she will spin less Or just dont mention it, a lot of people dont know to remove traction control when they race.

Good luck.
