355's out, 373's in???? Any input???

my 2000 with most bolt on's has been baffling me lately.

In the spring i ran a 12.82 at almost 107 on street tires, no traction bars and a 2lb pulley. Since then, i have added traction bars, hoosier qtp's , a 4lber, and had Jim dyno/custom tune my truck, to the tune of picking up 30hp and 70 ft/lbs because i was so rich, i dropped off the a/f charts.

Now, my 60's are in the cosistantly 1.90-1.92 range............but can't get any better. My mph are down in the 105 range.

I'm trying to explain this to myself now. I figured the 26" m/t et street might be a better choice because of my gearing, but have been told i'd be better off to put the 373's in and keep the 28's.

I'm attributing my mph loss to the slicks..........but i mean, i'm running slower now then i was in the spring, and the air temps/track conditions have been almost identicle. My best run since the newest mods is a 12.84. I figured i should be in the 12.6 range now problem.

What is you guy's feed back? This changing the gears is the way to go???? My 60 are way higher then the should be as far as i'm concerned. I've tried all different tecniques as far as psi, burnouts, launch?????

Just a little frustrated that almost $1500 later, i'm running slower

Don, not for nothin' but when was the last time you changed the oil in your tranny? I wonder if things are getting sluggish in there?

As far as the gear swap....I say don't do it man! If you do a lot of highway time like me, you may regret it. I managed a 1.85 on Jamie's Nitto's the first time I ever used them.

nah

my truck has 14k miles and i've changed the tranny fluid 3 times, as recently as two weeks ago.

I don't drive much on the highway, so i don't thinks it's a big deal.

What's involved with tunning the chip or reflashing the computer with the gear swap???

Relocating Radiator Overfill Reservoir????

Been thinking about building a custom air intake from the passenger headlight passager this winter. Obviously the reservoir is in the way. I was contemplating moving it or changing it to a smaller one like in a focus. Heard some yeys and nays about this.

Is it true that this is strategically placed where it is for a reason. Also heard it has to be about of the block for circulation reasons.

What do you guys know???
