I've had no water issues but I dont drive it every day, but my kit leaned out the motor by a full point, if your running close the edge be very careful, I'd dyno it to confirm.

yeah I think i may be running a little lean now. I need to check my plugs and talk with my tuner and make sure. I won't be installing the ram air till the springtime I dont think. I was hoping it will help cool the intake off at least on the real hot days... We'll see if I can make my own like a lot of you guys on here did.
Thanks, Shane

When we install a ram air system, you have to make adjustments in the chip? The computer won't take in more air and deliver more fuel, Or make all the proper adjustments needed on it's own?
thanks, Shane

As long as the MAF can read the air then the EEC can do it's thing (i.e. measure inputs, look up tables, adjust spark, etc..)

What's the difference with running a ram air, or forced air into the filter on a 90 degree day and cooling the intake temps and running w/out cool intake but on a 60 degree day. anything?
I'm just looking for ways to get my truck to run like it is now (60 degree weather) in the hot summertime.
thanks, Shane

Something like this guy's homemade powercooler (or the real thing $$) would be more beneficial than messing with some supposed ram air setup, at least at the track.

Cooling anything under the hood is beneficial, but not going to yield major results, just incremental. You need to have an overall goal and do some homework on what it takes to get there.

I found that part I was looking for.

Do you think the 2nd one with the little shield filters out any garbage that I don't want to get into my engine bay?
I just printed it out and I am going to see if Home Depot stocks them... thanks, Shane

does it really matter if you use one 3" duct, or 2 3" ducts?

i am trying to decide to get the single or double scoop to go with my rubbermaid/bmwbig6 heatshield

If I do it, I'd go with a 2.5"-$3" piping and then a scoop like the one above. Going into the home made heat shield if I make one... We'll see what I can put together and if it's worth it.

Shane, I ran at New England Dyno and it showed lean, then made a appointment at JDM's, there dyno showed the same so adjustments were made to richen it up, the truck ran fine but in the heat was a dog so the chip was done again at FFW, much better now but I still need more dyno time, my advice is the install the kit and stay out of the throttle until you can confirm the results. Good Luck, Todd

A true ram air setup does give you better ET's, and can be felt and seen on the top end of the 1/4 mile.
