Lightning V Chevy SS

Obviously the Lightning will win.
What other trucks would beat it STOCK?

The Harley Edition!
Would a regular F150 or F250?
1st Generation Lightning?
Toyota Tundra?
The new Chevy SSR?
Nissan Pathfinder?

The only reason is I kep runnin into the same guy and He ALWAYS makes a smart a$$ comment about the "FORD" that I drive.

Carefull! I had never lost to a Chevy truck before but last year I lined up with a Chevy 454 SS truck. I had a JLP phse 2 kit chip, ram air. I got my behind handed to me by a truck length. I did however start to pull on him at about 3/4's of the way down the track.
I got something for him now!

I wonder if my f350 with my superchips micro tuner could hang with one if i put it on the 110hp mode? that would make a good video.

Magazine adds are so biased sometimes, the ss vs the harley was a fair fight but why put a shortbed shortcab (less 500 pounds) for dodge and say its cheaper and almost as fast? considering that dodge does make a 4 door hemi and a extended cab hemi it just seems they are trying to make the hemi look better then it is.

I've also seen a quad cab hemi, stock, get 15.1 in the 1/4. and a reg cab can get down as low as 14.7 stock. Don't believe the numbers you see in that articale. I got 15.11 and I had a good 250lbs I still needed to drop.

That SS time in the motortrend article is the fastest time I've seen posted for the SS. Chevy is known for giving ringers to the testers to make their numbers look better then they actually are.

In my mind the SS would be great in the winter and if you like buying over priced cars.

Actually, that's the slowest time I've seen published for an SS. Unless you KNOW a vehicle is a ringer, why would you suggest it. Those are not outrageous numbers by any means. Here's another article where the SS is even quicker... http://www.caranddriver.com/article....rticle_id=6646

The price isn't pretty; but, it's right on line with non-performance platforms with similar options. It's not for me; but, it's a nice damn truck. Throw a little money at it, and it's gonna be a question mark at a stop light, too.

Lots of cash...
Less cash....

Let me end this debate, this month in sport truck magazine, they test the SS chey, Hemi Dodge, and THE L all stock 03's. The L beat the pants off of them in the quarter. They said the SS in too much money for what u get.
