Angry Got pulled over in the L

Well it was about 9pm here in northern va. I pull up to a traffic light and there is a cop in the center lane two cars ahead of me. Well light goes green and he takes off very slow, switches lanes and gets behind a modified WRX. Well the wrx goes extremely slow (about 30 in a 55) so the cruiser passes him finally. Im in the far left lane going 55 and i see him fly up behind me. I switched lanes to the middle and so did he, then to the right lane and so did he. Well then the blue lights turn on. He comes up and asks if i have been driving in and out of lanes cutting off people. I said no b/c i was not, and he said a citiizen called in a "lowrider black truck" cutting off people racing down the road. He takes my info and walks back to the cruiser (by this time i have three cop cars behind me) He comes back and said since he didnt see it he cant give me a ticket, but is giving me a warning. He then looks at the truck and asks "how low is your pumpkin to the ground" i was like i dont know, i never measured. He stated the truck looked to low and stated he might have to measure it. Well I informed him its an svt lightning and it comes this way, he didnt believe me, sooo i took out my svt book which i keep in the truck and proved him wrong. So he let me go. But what the he!! does my pumpkin have to do with anything, you cant lower it, unless you put on smaller wheels and tires. Sorry such a long post, just had to vent.

That's not necessarily true. I've heard of some states and counties passing ordinances prohibiting owners from raising or lowering their vehicle over stock. It's a stupid law, but they do exist.

I live in good ol cali. I know numerous people with lifted and lowered cars, truck and SUV's. NONE of them have ever even been haseled about there suspension modifications. LOL...my friends family lowers there vehicles that are on lease. I was riding with my friend in his s10 with airbags, and we rolled up next to a cop then dropped the truck to the ground and the cop smiled, then "lifted ourselves" at the green light Too bad it was an s10.

lol cali has no laws, i was at the gas station in my friends 01 larait 4x4 with a 6" rcd lift, 35's and the cop pulled next to us and asked him about his truck saying lifting or lowering is one of the things you can havee the most fun with while still being legal. my suspension is stock, but thought it was cool of him.

I don't know what cali you are livin in. When lifting a vehicle the bumper is your height limit. I don't know what the height is off hand cause well...I drive a lightning damn it.

Exhaust mods or getting something from out of state registered is a bloody nightmare.

I would have encouraged him to crawl under there and measure the height. That would be hilarious to see. Then if he still had an issue with it, pull out the SVT book.

Got the old 24" centerline of the headlight on lowered vehicles too in Re"call"public of California too. The headlight centerline can't be lower than 24". I forget what the maximum height is, but local dealers are selling F-Series trucks with 6" to 8" lifts. Technically they are supposed to be installing mudflaps, but the buyer figures that one out after his/her first pull over.
