e- fan problem
I just installed my e-fan and pump and I have a problem.
Before installing it my stock temp gauge read in the middle of the temp symbol. I was running with a 160 thermostat and e-fans on the intercooler.
Now with the new fan it reading above the symbol allmost half mark on gauge. The fan never comes on because the temp sending unit is rated at 195.
So I disconnect the fans on the intercooler and then ran the engine again and then the fan kick on for alittle and then shut off.
Do you guys think I'll be okay running a little hotter or was I running to cooled before?
Or should I find another sending unit that will turn the fan on sooner.
Also before I install the fan I was running 12.71 very consistently on hot days. I worried about running to hot now.

Well just to be "technical" I guess they can to a very small degree. i.e........warmer inlet temps would yield warmer engine temps. But that is stretching it.

I have the same situation. Mine comes on at 180 degrees and I have a 170 degree thermostat. I mounted a switch in the cab that turns on the fan on manually for cool down at the races, the rest of the time I have not been worrying about it. When the temperature drops the fan doesn't come on anyway.

Needless to say that will do nothing for cooling the main radiator.

I am just trying to help.........maybe it is electrical.

I use an adjustable thermocouple switch from Napa. I inserted the probe between the top vanes of the rad on the passenger side fully adjustable down to below 160degs. I used this to control the solenoid for the fans. I used a 75amp Bosch solenoid.
