well i was on my way to the strip tonight when i noticed the od flashing....so i turned around and went back home but it was shifting extremely hard, chirping at 1/2 throttle and giving me a headache......what do i do?

take it to the dealer.

 

That is an indication of a problem in the transmission. It could just be a wire or sensor or it could be something more serious. Do a search on all of F150Online (not just the lightning board) and you will see that others have had this problem. Hopefully it is under warranty.

I had the same thing happen to mine when I first got my truck. After the second trip to the dealer, they replaced the transmission. Running strong ever since

 

That just happened to me. As a matter of fact my L is still at the dealership. It is your TRANSMISSION. If you continue to drive it u will notice your gears slipping (rpm goes way up at slow speed). My L is going to cost about 2k to fix. Good Luck.
