Boss 5.4 F-150 ???
Boss 5.4 F-150 ???
I went to gas up tonight and I pulled in behind a Lightning looking truck. It had tags on the front quarter panel that said Boss 5.4. It was bright yellow, had a cobra style hood, looked like 18-inch rims, and a front valance and ground effects sort of similar to an L. I asked the guy what it was and he said it was a limited production 2002 Boss F-150. I asked him how much horsepower and he said 300. He was in a rush so I stopped asking questions. I am going to keep my camera in my truck and try and get a picture of it if I see it again. From a distance it looked like an L. I was a nice looking truck but I just don’t but that it was a real Boss since I have never heard of such a thing, I didn’t want to question the validity of this guy’s truck since I have no right to.
Just thought maybe someone may have heard of one.
Thanks,
Pete

It’s really a production truck? I’ve never heard anything about it, I figured I’d have seen something about it before on this site. What do you guys know about them, how much are they? I’m just curious as hell. This one was all yellow. Are they all show and no go? Any performance mods?
Thanks,
Pete

you can see them at dealerships sometimes, they look ok and arent fast, all show and no go, i think boss a third party company takes them and puts wheels, exhaust, and gfx then sell them on lots.
they are expensive too, i think around 37k

the hood, body mods, rims etc are a L.A. West kit.
L.A. West supplies the kits to be installed.
IMO they are ugly as hell (except the hood). The inside is worse. yellow seats???
damn big birds

Yeah, if I remember right the interior seats and dash are in matching color.(yellow or orange?) But of course the dealers line was "Yeah but if you put a blower on one of these it'll beat a lightning easy!" Man I could barely afford a used L and he wants me to spend 6K more + Blower + voided warrenty? IMO kinda ugly and as stated before"except for the hood"
I talked to a guy in one last night at a stop light. I think he said he paid 33,000 for it. Not sure on that, but i remember being surprised at how low the price was. The interior was not yellow and I think the wheels are 20's. Real nice guy and his truck looked great. He was keeping it low milage he said. It's coming up on two years old and he only had 9000 miles on it. Whenever I'd give a compliment he would say, "yeah, but it doesn't have a supercharger"
yea they are all show and no go. i was gonna say i think they are 260 hp. they come and yellow and now orange. the hood is about the only part i like (put it on my L before i saw it on the Boss - kinda made me mad when i saw it on a production truck at the car show).
Thanks for all the info, those galleries were great. Just an observation but after looking through the galleries it seems like allot of chicks own these trucks, and not very attractive ones at that. I still think it’s a cool looking truck, they must get mistaken for Lightning’s allot. It was the first time I’ve ever seen one. I guess that since they are so limited that they will become valuable.
Thanks for all the responses,
