Why do they care if you have a transbrake? Are they gonna get upset if someone has linelocks too?

The transbrake is a definate advantage for any Lightning but it is not made for our 4R100s. So basically it is restricting us to a factory transmission. Transbrakes are also dangerous on the street, due to the fact that you have to hit the transbrake button to go int reverse and if you accidently hit it while your going forward youll ripp the tranny right out of the truck by engaging reverse on a forward gear..Pete

Correct me if I am wrong, but wouldn't a linelock be safer for the driver and the truck? Aren't linelocks just a fluid valve in-line with the brakes on an electrically controlled solenoid? When you activate the solenoid, the valve closes to the brakes, holding in whatever pressure is there, and when you release the button, the brakes are released? I am almost sure I am right, but I have been wrong once before. But that was a long time ago

Anybody with a transbrake will have a big advantage over those who do not.

For example by holding a button they can keep the vehicle from moving at the line bringing up the RPMs and when the light counts down all they have to do is release the button and mash the throttle they are off.

For most all of our trucks we put the left foot on the brake bring the RPMs up light counts down remove your big foot off the brake and your other big foot mash the throttle.

Don't know about you but I can move my thumb faster that my foot.

By the way don't use your line lock to do this, they would over heat.

Seems to me that this rule was made with the Lightning racer in mind and not the other trucks that had competed in that category for sometime.

a .500 tree is also added to the mix.

I think there should be two classes, one for L's only and one for all trucks, that way the L owners can run a .500 tree and run eachother, then if they are brave enough, they can run the .400 tree against guys that raced for years before L's started showing up.

It is not uncommon for class sponsors to dictate the rules of the class they are paying for.

If you have an idea for a new class with different rules, round up a new sponsor for that class and make the rules to fit the class.

[Sarcasm on] Maybe there should be a separate class for Trucks that were Mazdas but are now Rangers with a .400 tree and heads up [/sarcasm off]
