6.0 powerstroke?!?!!? WTF

ok today this guy in this big deisel truck pulls up beside me at about 20 mph and punches it. black smoke pours out the exhaust and i hear the turbo come to life. he does this 2 or 3 times, squeeling his tires every time for a long way. im getting tired of the guy and as luck would have it we are approching a red light. im excited , gonna show this fool what a lightning is. my truck has no mods but an electric fan water pump and straight pipes. well the light turns green and i lose a little traction but still ahead of him about a hood length, but i wasn't pulling on him at all. im really impressed that a 6.0 would run with a lightning. it was 4x4 extended cab with big tires and a huge tail pipe (5 inch?). only raced until 60 but is my lightning slow or is his truck modded heavy? what do ya'll think?are these trucks that fast from the factory?

If you saw alot of black smoke and 5 inch tips. I would say mods. I know 5 inch tips arent stock on those and they usually dont spew smoke like unless they are chipped. Sometimes if the compressor housing on the turbo is changed, which is a common mod for those turbos.

take a look for yourself www.Bankspower.com

dont let those things fool you, they can be pretty quick. i raced my moms boyfriend in his long bed quad cab f350, he has straight pipe from the turbo all the way back and its huge, he had it tuned as well. he would keep up with me all the way through 1st gear. this is when i was stock though

Yea they can be pretty quick... Theres a shop out here in texas called Quadzilla, My old boss is a dealer for chips and did alot of business with them. They have a 03 Dodge Diesel, looks all stock excpet the 5inch exhaust. Pop The hood and you see the full custom twin turbo set up and pretty much every mod you can think of.. Thing is scary fast for a truck of its size. They also have a chevy duramax that pulled the front wheels off the ground one night out at ennis

I have a new 2003 F350 crewcab dually with the 6.0L.

It has 325 hp and 560 ft lbs of torque stock.

You can get a "chip"/ programmer that will give you 140hp and 200 ft lbs torque additional, then you add exhaust and an intake and Whoa!!!!

Hey Bryce here is a video of a Dodge diesel beating an L. It's pretty sad. This very vid has made me think very hard about modding my L.

You will probably have to right click and "Save Target As" because it takes a long time to load sometimes.

A few months back either on Discover or the Speed channel, I saw a Hot Rod show installing a Propane Injection unit on a Diesel Pick-up, (looked like a nitrous set-up) after pipes and bolt on intake system, it netted over 500 horses!
