Lightning owners, please read
Hey Lightning owners, I usually just read your posts, but I feel the need to start a thred here. There's another message board I use for my other vehicle(Probe GT). So in this forum, a probe inquired about a truck he raced. Well, now the discussion has popped up about Lightnings and such.

The thread if you want to read it.
One of the other members feels 13's isn't impressive for a full-size truck to be getting in the 1/4. (
) Can some of you guys post your best times, then I'll link this thread over there with a little explanation! Thanks!

I totally agree-it was much more tolerable than most. I just take it personally when people, and I mean anyone in any camp (Ford, Chevy, Dodge, etc) get too caught up in their own brand/make loyalty to appreciate other performance vehicles. Just my .02.

I totaly agree with that. I hear all the crap at work.. Man it was a tuff few days at work (chevydealership) when i got the L. But after a few rides most have shut thier mouths
FYI, stock 1st-gen. PGTs (turbo 4) will do the 1/4 mile in the low- to mid-15 second range. 2nd-gen PGTs (V-6) are a few tenths slower. In either case, the current L is significantly quicker. Here's the reply I posted on ProbeTalk (of which I've been a member for several years):
Seems that you're showing yours. You obviously don't know much, if anything, about the current generation Lightning.
After owning a 1990 Probe GT for 13 years, I sold it and bought a new 2003 Lightning. The Lightning is much quicker, has a top speed (~147) that's 12 MPH higher than the Probe's, handles at least as well, and has far better brakes. It may not fit the definition of a sports car (many of which it outperforms), but it definitely qualifies as a sports truck. And it's roughly 4,700 lbs., not "5000 lbs plus".

Dan's Auto-X record's
Pat from CornerCarvers Auto-X record's
Stan's road racing
Spike video's
Tim's pictures
and everyone else I'm forgetting.

there are web sites for EVERY car... there is probably a Festiva site
Some of those guys seem alright, I think its funny how the one guy who obviously knows jack **** has the biggest mouth, even when his peers tell him otherwise. Dumb people need to learn to shut up when they know they are wrong about something.
I dont know about you guys, but once you lower our trucks (more than 2/2), they corner similar to a mustang...not just like one, but it is a truck...and it impressed me right off the bat since I have had many trucks and couldnt believe the difference.
