Added 300hp last night.

Added 300hp & 300tq in the form of a 2004 Subaru STi. Silver of course. Still have the L, for now.

I saw a silver STI at the track last week. Very sweet car. He ran a low 13, but it looks like a good driver could of squeezed a 12.

I was thinking about going to a dealership and test driving one just for fun. A friend and I used to do that all the time when we were in HS and bored on a weekend. I still have not driven something with AWD, Im curious how it feels on the hard corners

The AWD feels great. I have to keep it under 4000 RPM's for the first 1000 miles so no hard runs yet. This is my first AWD car and so far I like it a lot. I can control the front to rear power distribution on the fly from the driver's seat. Limited slip diffs front and rear, BBS wheels, 4-wheel Brembo's, 6spd.

On the street I think it would be a worthy competitor to most L's. Mainly due to traction. Not many 12sec L's can duplication that on the street.

Let the mods begin. Plan to take it to 400hp at the wheels.

Just curious, how much are they going for? Are the deaers adding their $$$ to the price? I like the idea of 300hp with AWD. I just can't get over the ricey econobox look.

So you finally did it. Which dealership finally came through to you without markup?

Maybe I'll just forget a house and buy a used S4 and put the APR stage III kit on it (412 hp/482tq on pump gas). That would give you a run for your money.

Sound like a sweet car. Can't wait to to see it and get a ride-along

They're going for much over MSRP in most areas. There is a long wait list for them as well. If I couldn't get one I'd settle for the EVO which is also a sweet ride.

Congrats

I bought it at Lithia Subaru in Oregon City for msrp ($32k). Was quoted elsewhere from $1500 -$8000 over msrp from various dealers. The only real wait was for the color I wanted. The waiting lists are pretty well gone.

Pics coming soon.

Ditto on the Cobra. Much higher potential than the STI. You have to boost the STI to the breaking point to push 400HP, while 500HP in a Cobra is fairly painless.

I hear those STI's trap around 103-104 in stock trim in decent air. Not too shabby.

And no, I don't think it's bad to get beaten by a car that is specifically designed for speed. I think it's damn respectable to stay even with a purpose built race car (the STI) in my big Ford truck that was originally designed to haul cargo, not haul ***.
