I saw that truck in FFW Ohio. I do agree though that the badges make people think there is an extended cab L and I have to explain to MORE people that Ls do not come extended cab.
But it was a nice truck all the same.

Yeah the badges need to go. Those tail lights need to bounce even more. Otherwise it is pretty good looking truck. To be totally honest, I think the OEM 01-up tails are the only decent looking clear tails. That must have been a well though out process because they are the only ones that actually look like they belong on a vehicle. Kudos to Ford and Visteon!

I am going to have to side with the L owners on this one. It is okay to use mods to get the sweet looking appearance of the L but the badges are tacky at best. I mean dang guys be ORIGINAL like the L's are originals and numbered to boot! Nothing wrong with the appearance package though. Shoot, I have a set of 99 L wheels on my XLT ext cab and they look hot but I would never try to call it what it isn't. I think it is the more the combo that he even listed it as an L that would be more aggravating.
But to his plus, at least it is a nice looking truck.

I had to sound off on this. WHO CARES??
The truck looks nice and does a nice job of representing what SVT should do. Build an L that can also carrry the family. I would have a problem with it if the truck only had a 4.6 or plain 5.4, then every Chevy, Dodge and Ricer jacka$$ would tell how they "killed" an L.
I own a Supercrew, Lightning, and a '68 Chevelle. This is the same to me as someone putting SS trim on a standard Chevelle. Does it really matter if runs, looks and sounds good. My Chevelle is 2 door post Malibu that once was a 307 car. Now it runs 11's in the 1/4, in full dress, all steel and street legal. So if I were to put SS trim on it does it cheapin SS cars?? I say no, because I stomp SS's every chance I get. I have never lost to an SS car on the street.
Hell I almost purchased a Harley truck so that I could take the wife and kids, but who needs two supercrews.
I say lets all go to the closet, get the stool, and slowly and I do mean slowly get off of our high horses and accept the fact that many ford truck guys and gals want to be as lucky as we are, and enjoy the admiration, not bad mouth them for fixing-up the best looking truck on the road.
We are all on the same page, who ever did that truck did a quality job and we should all be happy that someone did not just slam L badges on a truck and go out and lose race, after race, after race, after race and give L's a bad rep. I know of two guys who put L badges on plain a$$ 4.6 trucks, now that is an issue.
I am not here to flame or offend, that is just my take.

It is a good thing it is your take. Why would you want to represent something when its not that type of truck at all. I don't have a problem with adding things like upgrading motor and/or appearance but why change the name. I think it is quite tacky myself. He would of been better off keeping it an f150 badge and then maybe adding a supercharge emblem under the F150 badge. Oh, by the way you can get that supercharge emblem at a buick dealership. And if you don't care you might as well put an SS badge on it or wait, you don't want to make somethiing that it is not.
This truck was debated a while back.....If you look at the photo gallery, the underhood pic, doesn't the paint on the firewall and fenders look more red than the outside of the truck which actually looks more maroon??? Prolly not even his engine compartment....

I knew if I waited long enough, they would make an L with the extended cab---Thanks Ford
