You're grasping on that one. Camera angles and lighting will make a big difference in how colors turn out in pictures. Look at the picture on the front page and how much more orange it looks. Are you going to tell me the one in the album that is more maroon colored isn't the same truck as the one on the album cover?

I agree that he probably should have left the badges off, but it is one sweet looking truck.

Nope...the engine compartment is from a L. The other photos are the other truck. I could care less about the badges, but would really prefer that it have some performance to back them up. It's a very nice looking truck, and if it has a eaton blower on it, that's fine; however, it appears to me that the engine photo in the gallery is deceptive. The red is a perfect match for a red L.

Just another take on the whole poser, misbadged topic. You say you're afraid of somebody beating up on one of these misbadged vehicles and then thinking that a Lightning ain't all it's cracked up to be. I say that if it's somebody that knows anything about these trucks, they'll know what's what. I can't tell you how many times I've had somebody ask, "is that a Lightning?", "what year is that Lightning?", "Did you take the Lightning badges off?". My truck doesn't look anything like a Lightning. I don't have Lightning wheels, bumpers, or ground effects. Hell, it's not even a Flareside and it DOESN'T have Lightning badges. So I guess some schmuck can kick my a$$ in a race and tell people he beat up on a Lightning because he doesn't know any better. Just something else for you guys to worry about.

NOT A LIGHTNING

That engine compartment has a hood blanket. I know my Lightnings hood does not and I don't think I have ever seen a Lightning with one. Just some food for thought. -Mat-

You L guys oughta be thankful for all those styleside 4.6 "L"s running around out there losing races and ruining your rep. Should make plenty of pigeons ripe for the picking - say $100/race??

Its a nice looking truck IMO. Its way too tuff to be sure if that engine pic is from his truck or not. I do see a difference in the tone of the paint though...but its not something I would bet money on. If he has the 5.4 S/C then good for him, he has a real custom setup and a nice overall ride. If its a fake picture then thats just lame. I would however take the badges off either way and just smooth the fenders out, that way there is no confusion for the public on Ford making an ext. cab Lightning.
