I don't know what the other supercharger companies offer as far as coverage, but the KB blows as far as what is covered.
Any lower pulley larger than a 8.27" with the stock 3.5" upper and 5500 rpm shifts will void the warranty. That means that basically anyone running a KB doesn't have a warranty unless KB wants to fix it out of the goodness of their heart.

Cruising down the freeway with the open filter I usually read right at ambient or 2° below. That is a JDM open filter kit. You can see on some of my datalog autotap graphs that the intake air temp will rise a few degrees when going to WOT, but that has no effect upon the air exiting the intercooler.
If anyone with autotap would datalog and send me files I can post them.

well, so much for me worrying about the warranty, I have a 9.25 for my lower.
although I told KB this when my first one seized and they didn't hesitate to send me a new one..........
there's some light at the end of the tunnel.

I don't think it's fair to bash the KB warranty without any facts to back it up.
I also agree with them as far as the air intake is concerned. The worst thing
you can do is to let your engine draw in the hot air from under the hood.

What is the most ridiculous aftermarket product? Hands down, it's the "little intake fans" and the "throttle body spacers" with the bore grooves. Right there on the list has to be those "underhood exposed filters" that suck in 200° underhood air instead of ambient (70°-100° air from the fenderwell). 10° air temp rise is -1% HP. That's how dynos are calibrated for temperature changes. Does anyone really believe that all those OEM manufacturers designed expensive plastic inlet systems - for the last 20 years - that pull cool air from the fenderwell, hood or grill because they didn't have anything else to spend their money on?
It's hard to argue with the logic. But your point is well taken as to whether the bench racer logic translates into real temp differences at the intake. I seem to remember that PSP had collected some data, but I could be wrong.
