Question Lightning question...

Few questions on Lightnings. First how are the 03 Lightnings as far as problems? Any problem with the heads and launching plugs or has that been corrected? Any other engine related problems?

Another question is have any of you ever drived one durning winter time with snow? I would think they would be a pain to drive in the snow because of being a high performance vehicle but maybe I am wrong.

I ask because I am really thinking about getting one. It will most likely be an 04 because I will need to wait a bit. I am really thinking if I can find a decent beater to drive in winter would be much better but wanted to know what you people think.

Finally question, what do you usually pay for your Lightning? My dealer has them 29.8k and wondered how good of a price that is. Told me he could most likely sale me an 04 for close to that when they get them later on down the line.

Thanks for your assistance.

I am really happy w/ mine. I do not recommend winter driving. Especially from up where U are. Stick w/ a 4x4 ,unless you have a second vehicle for winter

The only problem I have had with my 03 is the intercooler pump wasn't working when I bought it. I just didn't know it until a couple of L brothers (I met on here I might add) took a look at it.

It's the only vehicle I have so obviously it's a daily driver. It has about 9000 miles on it and I drive the he!! out of it. Lots of wide open throttle from dead stop and hard azz kick downs. Plus I take it to the track every chance I get regardless of temp and humidity. I do think I got an L that has a weak motor. The best I can muster is 14.2 at the track and that's consistantly.

I have heard that the temp and humidity have a lot to do with how the truck runs but I see posts on here all of the time where people run in the 13's @ a 100 or better with a stock L in the heat and humidity.

Other than the intercooler pump not working I haven't experienced any problems. Driving in the rain is bad enough, I can't imagine trying to drive in the snow. I paid a little over 30 grand for my L using the X-Plan. I would think that 29 and change is a damn good deal.

I can tell you that I have no regrets! If you do decide to buy one you wont be sorry IMHO. This is the best vehicle I ever owned and I'm extremely proud to drive it. So which ever way you decide to go...best of luck to you!

I bought my 03L 5 weeks ago! So far it runs perfect, but i have only put about 320miles on it. It's a daily driver, i do get on it, but never to hard., well unless someone trys me!

I keep it cleaner than my own body, and baby it.
