Gentlemen,

That goofy looking guy in the posted "Miami Max" picture, left corner, that's me - there's a big smile on that mug of mine for a reason

HP 496
Torque 562

a/f = 12.6

The only thing holding me back from low 500's in hp are my stock injectors - guess what is next on the list.

Let me sugest 50# injectors, not 55's

Don, what is the thinking behind the 50's instead of the 55's?

Just use this formula to size your injectors:

(horsepower X BSFC) / (# of injectors x duty cycle) =injector size

BSFC is brake specific fuel consumption, which is generally around .55-.60 for a blown engine. This can only be measured on an engine dyno. As far as duty cylce, 80% seems to be the 'sweet spot.'

(600 x .60)/(8x.80)= 56.25 lb/hr inj for 550rwhp.

These numbers won't be totally accurate without an engine dyno, but they should be close. We'll assume 550rwhp is around 600hp at the crank.

Move up to the 700hp range (again, crank horsepower)and you need 65# injectors.

Hope this helps.

Ah, so bigger injectors without as high output numbers can actually harm you?

I was told a 55# injector to be rated at 750hp at 80% duty cycle and at 38 psi or at 44 psi it will feed more and more...the SD injectors are actually rated at 57.75#s an hour...and with a KB boost a pump you can crank up your fuel pump voltage to your fuel pumps even more.....

O.K. does the fact I have the dual 55lb Cobra injectors change the equation in any way, or are they the ticket to feeding the new injectors?

You mean the dual 255lph fuel pumps and yes, absolutely, those pumps will feed 1000hp Dan.....

I'm ashamed of you Promod. You must not have read your KB instructions when you installed it. They say, "DO NOT replace or upgrade in tank pumps. It's a total waste of money..."

I changed my set up based on all the advice I received from guys who have been there done that. From Johnny, Sal, Paul and Tim, Willie and awesome L owners on this sight, etc.

Maxing hp and torque with the safest combo of mods etc was the goal.

No disrespect to John, he has helped me, but the question at 22lbs becomes - how long is she going to last - especially on a stock lower, now maybe he has some secret tuning weapon that we don't know about, but...........

The rule of thumb or advice that I gathered focused on maxing boost at 15 to 16 - then I would really be pushing my luck. Now, with one of his lowers - give me all the boost you can and take me to the track.

And the other reason is, I can't seem to save my money just spend it so what better to spend money on...........!
