Question 2001 Cobra Times????

I work with a guy who owns a bone stock Cobra. When I told him recently of my new best time he shrugged it off and told me it was a decent time. Almost as he was saying I better bring more to the table. I know he doesn't have any mods. My question is, what do the 01' Cobra's run? I figure they are pretty quick, but not fast enough to act like I don't even have a chance. Unfortunately I have yet to find him on the street to see for myself. Thanks for any response.

IRS is tricky to launch. I can get a bone stocker to post a 13.2 to 13.4 but you really need to know how to launch these mod motors. High RPMs and slipping the clutch. 12's can be had stock with just sticky tires. Add long tubes,catback,hipe/xpipe no cats, CAI, Gears, Tbody and a MAF and 12.0's all day with stickies.

You will 0wn him.

I thought that the Lightnings were the fastest thing Ford made up until the 03' Cobras.

I raced a guy I work with in his 01' Cobra. I beat him 2 out of 3 races but his car should be faster than my truck. He has $2,000 or so in mods to my little ole' stock Lightning. His best pass was 13.8x

FWIW, a buddy of mine with a stock 01 (except for a Bassani cat back) ran a 13.23 and 13.26 both at high 105 traps. This was on a hot South Florida night too. Granted, the guy really knows how to drive the car (and beat the snot out of it too).
