Solid rear window ?

I have a friend who just bought a 03' F150 Lariet. It has a solid rear window and he really wants a slider. I on the other hand would really like a solid window. Is it possible to switch his window with mine? Is that something a dealer could/would do? Would there be a major concern with leaking after a switch was made or can they seal them back up pretty good. It's just an idea we had. Better than paying the $400 they wanted to put in a slider on his truck.

Yes the rear glass will fit each others truck. Might be cheaper having an autoglass place switch them out for you and done right should not have a problem leaking.

Good luck

For a decent autoglass shop the switch will be no big deal. IF your window was ever smashed out/broken having the window fixed is the same as doing what you guys are talking about. Tell your buddy you will split the cost with him. Both trucks to the glass shop one day and the job will be done easily. OH, keep the dealer out of the picture as he will have a $ mark-up over the glass guy he sends the trucks to. IF you want ask the dealer Service Manager who he recommends you use as he will undoubtedly know a guy that has done many such jobs on Fords coming through the dealership.

Well alright then, sounds like we're gonna go for it. I was worried about having leak issues after the swap but it doesn't seem like anybody else shares that concern. We will deffinetly be going to an auto glass place rather then teh dealer. Great advice, thanks.
