Talking Moroso Pan and FTVB (pics!)

Yesterday I went up to VinniePSVT's house to do the install on an FTVB and Moroso Transmission Pan.

I'm sure all of you already know about how great the ftvb is and what it does, but since the Moroso pan is new and I haven't seen anyone post about getting one, I took some pictures of it installed and have some info on why I chose it.

The Moroso pan uses a Machined billet rail to mount and is made from aluminum for light weight and strength. It is not a cast part and was light and easy to install using just rhino ramps on the truck. It holds 4.5 qts more than the stock pan, and measures the same depth: 3.642 inches. The real beauty of this pan is the increased capacity and no penalty in clearance. Compared to the 4x4 pan which only holds a quart or so more and reduces clearance (just ask clonetek). The pan is also only 160, far cheaper than the mag hytec or ford racing pans, and about the same price as the b&m and similar ones.

Here are the pics:

Notice the quality of the welds and how it doesnt stick below the frame crossmember. Perfect if you plan on lowering the truck.

EDIT: forgot to mention it's a magnetic drainplug too!

Detail of the rear area. The seams are fully welded on the inside as well, and there's a baffle for the filter pick-up.

Detail of mounting rail along the side. You probably noticed in these two pics that it doesn't mount using bolts like the stock pan or allen bolts like many others, but instead includes studs to mount the the transmission case and nuts to hold it into place, due to the billet mounting rail being thicker. The stud/nut arrangement made it much easier to mount the pan and gasket and get everything to line up.

Another picture from the passenger side showing the front of the pan.

Along with an oil change and fuel filter swap, we also installed this mod. Although it was real tough we like how it turned out.

Black billet shorty antenna from REM.

EDIT: Post 1000!

The trans filter is motorcraft part number ft113, as per the moroso website. I'm not sure if that is the stock filter.
