The SS Silverado is a pathetic waste of $40,000. Its heavy ,slow, and looks like ***.

All in fun Mister G... The picture was pretty good with the dog..

hdmlnium, sounds like fun but your a million miles away..

No Dyno #'s with the AWD

No track times yet still working out some bugs with the fuel system. I'm pretty sure it will run in the 11's somewhere though.

My dad was from MN, and we used to vacation at Gull Lake every summer. I won't tell you how long ago that was, but I have fond memories of those times. If it weren't for the damned winters I wouldn't mind living there. But I would not mind lining up against your SS with my L. I'm in the same place you are, working on the fuel system. When I'm done you better be in the very low 11s to have a chance to beat me.

So when are you going to dyno it? I assume you have an awd dyno in your area, or you have located one a long time ago. When are you going to the track? Since you boasted about your SS, i would assume you want to back it up.

You failed to answer questions about the drivetrain.. tranny etc.. so i wonder if you have a big hp, but everything else is going to break when you try and put it down. Kind of like putting a built 351 into a ranger, and leaving all the stock running gear. I mean, is this thing steroid or what??

By the way, most people work out "bugs" at the dyno, or the track. Trying to get it "dialed in". By now you must have run the truck on the street many times. What have you run so far??

I am just wondering if you built a horsepower "queen". Sounds good, lots of hp, but you better not get on it or else it will self destruct the dirivetrain. The kind of truck everyone would think was really fast when you pop the hood, and tell them how much HP you are making. But it's a dog.

Enlighten me.

alphadoggy, I couldn't agree more about the winters. Sounds like you've got a nice project on your hands.

CCCPL, Get the Zaino out

SpeedJunkie

The wheel base is to long for any of the AWD dyno's I've found so far. And there is no use taking it to the track right now I know it runs out of fuel at a certain rpms. First it was out of injector so that was fixed and now it won't hold fuel pressure. So I won't bother going to the track till thats under control.

I hope its not just a HP queen I think it weighs more than a Harley Edition...and thats a bunch

The driveline has been enhanced by Finish Line Performance (FLP) Wish it had a Ford tranny, but FLP did a great job on this transmission. The Jury is still out on how long it will last though.

Thanks Guys but this Tread has run its course :

Keep it FUN and Thanks for the comments

The SS is a very nice truck. I like it myself and was interested in buying one. I have to ask though...how much more did you pay for it? Then the cost of installing the blower on it.....Yikes! Sorry, but to me that is a bit over priced for what you get initially out of the box. I like the AWD and the extended cab feature.

Again, you have a very, very nice truck, but way overpriced for what you get.
