Shock set up???
I spoke to a friend that races regularly. He has a 8.9 second chevy pick up (I believe it is a '58).
He told me before I get serious about heading to the track I needed to change my front shock set up to improve weight transfer to the rear.
Suggested a 60/40 or a 70/30 front shock, but said talk to guys who are pulling good times.
What shock set up is recommend for our L's? And is there a particular brand that you suggest?
Thanks!
Dan

That is some serious cash.
Does anyone know the settings they should be adjusted to for the front?
Can I get away with only changing the fronts?
Spankdog, everytime I see that "drunk photo" I crack up,
Thanks guys!

Dan, your optimum setup would be: remove front sway bar and install a set of QA1 shocks set at 90/10 and the rears Id leave at 50/50....this will allow great weight transfer....but these shocks are pricey.....
I believe the ratio on the QA1's remains constant just he overall stiffness is adjustable. ie always a 60/40 just softer or stiffer. Stan would be the one to check with.

The shocks are a bit pricey however they can be rebuilt and offer flexibility whether you prefer pummelling apexes, ripping up the 1320, daily driver, or all.

Dan,
The funds associated with prepping the truck with a respectabe road course setup is less than the outlay for a reliable 11 second quartermiler.
It all depends on your specific goal(s) for the vehicle and at what point either application sacrifices acceptable driveability vs. safety requirements (ie: roll cage)
