Acetone to the Lightning Badges?

Will someone please tell me what this does to the badge?....Do you just put it on the black parts of the badge? I am wanting to do this but not exactly sure how and I surely don't want to mess anything up! Please explain step by step for me....Thanks alot guys....Feel free to post some pics of acetone badges on Silver too!....Thanks again!

I have not done this myself, but from what I hear, you want pure acetone. Someone posted not too long ago that, if you use nail polish, it will take a much longer time to finish than regular acetone. Use a "ton" of Q-Tips and the acetone to remove the black finish on the badges. This will leave a all "crome" finish. Make sure you mask off all surrounding paint so that you don't get the acetone on the truck.

I could not pull up those pics Danny, maybe someone else can get some pics up. Also, any more directions and how this works would be very helpful. The more the better. Do I just acetone the black parts....are the hole badge??

Thanks guys!

sorry about the picture part. heres what i did. tape the badges off to where no silver is showing. then just take to the black paint with the acetone soaked q tip. it wont hurt the badge if you get any acetone on the chrome part. have a roll of shop towels or paper towels handy. then just do a little bit at a time and wipe clean. it might take a little effort to get it off. then when you are done, just wipe the badge clean.
