Quick Electric Fan troubleshooting question

Hey guys, I'm in the process of installing the Electric Fan/waterpump on my truck. I ran into a bit of a bind here. The Fan itself comes with a temp sensor which fits in the block drain plug on the driver side of the block. Well I already have a sensor there because I have Aftermarket guages, and one of them is a water temp guage. Does this mean I can't use a water temp guage AND also have the fan work? I'm confused here...any help would be appreciated.

I'm not an expert but depending on the range of the sender you should be able to use it for both...........unless thats a no no. hopefully someone else can chime in.

Go to your local hardware store. Get a brass 1/8" NPT tee fitting (and appropriate gender changers if required). Screw it into the block. Screw the senders into the two remaining holes. Use Teflon tape. Presto.

I would not use the same sender, even if it were to magically spec out at the same resistance range required for both the gauge and the thermostat. Having two circuits across the same sender could cause false resistance readings, which would throw everything off.

You are in luck. I just got done putting in my LFP fan kit and I had the same problems. First put the fan sending unit in the block. Then call Cory Villani at 815-895-8141 he works for Auto Meter in customer service. Tell him what you are doing and ask him for the heater hose adapter. It cost $24.95 and it is slick. It will fit in you heater hose under your hood to the left of the supercharger. It is very small and has a thearded stud for the ground if you are using a electric gauge. If you have any more questions let me known.

Thanks, alright since I'll be finishing the install sometime early Thursday, I'll give him a call. I like Skelton's idea however. Hmm... THanks for the help guys, looks like I have two or three options now.

Tim have you done this? When I put my sending unit in there is very little room for any thing else to fit! I was going to try the same thing but the sending unit for the LFP fan is fairly large. View my album to see the adapter.
