Question Fuel filter question

Going to run 1/2" ss braided fuel hose. Guy doing the plumbing says that the Summit pump (p/n SUM-G1503E) for $31 is fine for my application. But I'd rather not step down to 3/8" if I don't have to. Should I lay out $89 for the Paxton biller filter (p/n PAX-8001689)?

OK, after further research I've decided that the Paxton is way overkill. Now thinking about the Earl's in-line billet filter with sintered bronze filter and NPT -8 connections. Any opinions?

No opinions? Fuggedda bout it, I just ordered the Earl's from Summit.

Glad we could help you decide.

You gotta post some pics when that beast is done. Sounds like it should be one mean machine.

No such thing as an overkill fuel filter....more surface area=less restriction...

Im with pro on that as well.

Before you commit, have you looked at the Aeromotive pumps and filters? IF not, give them a look before making the purchase from Scummit. Good luck George.

I was also looking at those aeromotive filters. Will they work with stock setup on the L's?

No, sure wont AZfun, but it would be nice for someone to finally come out with a full braided line kit for a Lightning....

Thanks, Kev. I did look at the Aeromotive and they are nice but the Earl's gave me what I was looking for (-8 connectors, bronze element- finer than stainless, more durable than paper) at half the cost. Criminee, I never realized all the little (but expensive) details that go into building a motor. Truck has been down for over 5 months now. Gonna miss the Historics this weekend, and Gladstones looks pretty iffy.
