built motor guys here

Well just found out that my motorsports sponsor aka dad has officially agreed to buy a built motor, blower of choice, and build a tranny. well we know hands down that im gonna get a monster box and a converter, i might order it tomorow or wait till i tear this one up and get a rebuild kit, right now im leaning towards a 140 setup but i hear the magnums are going to put up some big numbers tambien.:db: :db:
heres my question, im still not sure of how to do the whole motor thing. someone whos done this evaluate my options.
option one, buy a shortblock from one of the vendors, most likely since ive been dealing with REM so much i would use theres but who knows.
option two buy a built long block from one of the vendors, not to fond of this because im not looking for a 700 HP daily driver but just something mild, so i wouldnt really be looking into cams persay more like something just to take a little more abuse and some juice.
option three buy a kit like the one psp sells, and have a local engine builder build a shortblock and open the heads.
now those are the basic options of how abouts getting a motor, my next question is who to install it.
im in new mexico and there really to be honest isnt anyone that i would trust doing it. ive been in checking some shops out and theres really been only two that i would consider. does anyone have any advice on that. im down to three people all very good friends with my dad to build the motor and all want to do it i just dont know if i should go that way. this will all take place within a month?
all help appreciated.
