Thank you! These chops weren't that crazy (the SVT Focus with Lightning nose was a little trickier). I got to give Konig props though, he made a green Lightning "R" withou the benefit of all the layers and masks I made/used to do my color shifts. That means he probably masked off the truck body manually (which after doing so many times myself, I would never wish that task on anyone else).

Now if we can get a hood built that looks almost like what I have shown, THAT would be cool! So far, I have only seen my Rubbermaid intake heat shield come to life as a "real" modification.

LOL, I didn't mean to leave you out since we talked about your photochop offline, but yes... you had even more masking to do and you get mad props for that too!

haha, thats the only way I know how to do it actually. Its not that hard, but I always mess up once or twice when I have the thing masked off 80% and double click on something I didnt mean to.

How is it that you create masks/layers from a flat image?

That's happened to me a few times too! So what i do now is a duplicate the layer i want to cut out. I then make a layer that is right behind it in red, then i go back to the layer i am cutting out and use eraser tool.

It's not as accurate but it is a little safer.

Yeah, I do it the same way... mask it off but save the selection as a new channel so I can always refer to it later, and I probably have 50 layers for the single PSD image - each with slightly different blending modes. Masking is so tedious... and the WORST is when someone AIM's you in the middle of a mask and it takes over your window (closing the mask loop prematurely).

take a pic of the hood call some hood manufactures, some of the vendors have to have a connection some where and pitch the hood idea i want one bad and would like to see in done,

but it's your conception from your mind it's just an opinion, but i really do want one!!!!!
Since the hood seems to be the most popular aspect of the design, I decided to do a couple more views of it in case it would help anyone here determine how hard it would be to make. Some peeps on NLOC are already talking to friends in the industry so we'll see what happens...

Actually, I liked the front cover the best. The hood is definitly badd *** though.

By the way...you dont have any really clean pictures of Lightning bolts do ya? I used some of the lightning from a pic you made with a red L.. but Im not pleased with the job I did. Its my sig, youll see what I mean, I can tell its blended and its bothering me more and more.

I don't have any nice lightning photos myself, I think I "borrowed" individual bolts from the web and composited them. There are tons available on google: http://images.google.com/images?sour...-8&q=lightning

Speaking of borrowing, I hope Audio18 doesn't mind me using the photo of his silver L for some of my chops... it's the only decent overhead/top view I could find.

This is one of the best threads I've ever seen. Could you possibly do one with the scoop pushed back a little farther? Very nice work man.
