#@*! Change of plans, but here is a preview.

Went to check out the new paint job today, but found a major problem, so there is going to be a change in the plan. I can't blame the shop on the problem, since I told them I wanted the Lightning Emblems on the truck

First off I checked the right side of the vehical and everything looked awesome.

Then they showed me the left side, well since the emblem and the stripe are on different angles, the emblem stuck over the edges.

So now it looks like I am going to have to have the holes in the fender filled and have the 2 fenders repainted again.

The paint in the pics is real dull, since they had wet sanded the clear coat before the next coat of clear. The next pic will give you a better idea of the color I chose. so hold replies for a minute.

In this pic they sprayed a little solvent on the strip so you can get a idea of what the blue will look like

Here is the right side with the whole stripe

and here is a pic of the hood

So the 3 holes in each fender will have to be filled and the fenders will have to be repainted. Unless someone has a better idea. I think it will look pritty cool all smoothed out, but I did want the lightning logo. Oh well, I will post some more pics when I pick it up thursday or friday

It is actually Neon Blasberry Chromealusion paint. Once it is done and the sun hits it, I bet it will look sick as hell

I thought about airbrushing a Lightning Logo, but at this point I want to get the truck back. I may have Lightning logos airbrushed on this winter when the truck is off the road.

Ya I like that hood, but 2 problems
1) it is heavy, and I want to keep the weight down.
2) I have allready copied Lightning Bob's truck enough and I didn't want to have a clone of his truck. He deserves to have as unique as possible of a truck.

LOOKING GOOOOOOOOOD DON

Not sure why one emblem would fit between the stripes and not the other though
I understand about the angle of the emblems, but the stripes should be uniform and angle down the fenders the same path and width on both sides, SHOULDN'T THEY ???
Hence covering one the exact same as the other side.
(could he be off on the width and path of the stripe on that side ?

Either way I know you'll fix it up and it'll look awesome,
IT ALREADY LOOKS AWESOME

GREAT IDEA, very original

i like it with or without a hood though Don.

I think the angle of the L and the G due to the script fit going one way but not the other / / as oposed to \ \ I would hope the guy would not be dumb enough to shoot it with bad measurements!

hmmmm

i thought it looked the nuts the way the emblems were, no need to remove them. But it's your truck and your money, i would leave it alone. Does look sharp though. A little different from what i expected. Thought you would have the stripes comming up the hood then split off the sides......

My new hood/paint will be comming in the spring. Nothing like yours but my hood is rotting and getting worse so might as well replace it . I'll have them fix the knicks on the valence and paint that too.
