Dumb Rice

Ricer flew by me and thought he was hot stff. then i look down at the plate and saw VTCPWER. Then i just erupted laughing. Man those chopstick boys sure do think they have something hi performance when they find out they have the "V-TECH" power. What does it stand for again? something like very tall engine cooler?

I can't stand ricers like that. I work with a guy like that. He's always talking about dusting me with his GSR powered Civic. I always tell him a 2 liter bottle of Coke is bigger than his motor.

I am no ricer but the Vtec system is very cool. It stands for Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control. It is like 2 generations ahead of ford technology. Basically, mechanically it makes ford look stone age. It basically lets the engine use multiple camshafts or camshaft lobes effectively. That way it can change the timing and get the benefit of low speed and high speed timing in the same engine. Sorry for the boring post but i do have some respect for the vtec technology. It is a really good system.

passed a ricer on the freeway here not too long ago. I think it was a civic in its former life, but you couldnt tell from the body kit. What killed me was the license plate : V8EATR

Too bad there was a cop in front of us. All the N20 in California wouldnt have saved him.

Isnt the new F150 slated to use some sort of variable timing?

There's a good writeup on howstuffworks.com that explains how variable timing works (vtec, vvti, etc). It was posted to a thread on this site a while back but I'm too lazy to look it up. Good info though and interesting.

I'm working on getting a lightning right now to retire my 99 Honda Prelude. I would not call myself a ricer because I own an import, but a car enthusiast I may be. I thought it'd be fun to mod a honda, and it was. I have a built motor and custom turbo kit that last time on the dyno made 328 WHP @ 9 PSI. I've had fun with it, but am in need of something different and a Lightning is the only thing to catch my interest right now.
Heres a couple pics

And a Parts list.
Engine Internals:

(*) H22a1 Engine
(*) JE Sleeves
(*) Arias 9.5-1's Custom
(*) Eagle Rods
(*) Crower Valve Springs
(*) Crower Retainers
(*) RC Engineering 720 CC Injectors
(*) Holley Fuel Pressure Regulator
(*) STR Fuel Rail

Custom Turbo Kit:

(*) Turbonetics T60-1 Turbo Stage V .63 AR
(*) Custom Manifold
(*) Custom Intercooler Piping
(*) Custom 3" Exhuast
(*) No Catalytic Converter
(*) Custom 3" Downpipe
(*) Spearco Intercooler 24" x 3" x 7"
(*) Tial 38 mm Wastegate
(*) Blitz BOV

Electronics:

(*) F.A.S.T (formerly SpeedPro) w/Wideband o2
(*) Greddy Profec B
(*) Greddy Turbo Timer
(*) Apexi EL EGT Gauge
(*) Apexi EL Boost Gauge
(*) Autometer Oil Pressure Gauge
(*) Autometer Monster Tach w/ Shift light

Suspension:

KYB AGX Adjustables
Ground Control Coilovers
17" Sinister Wheels
Falken Ziex Tires 215 40 17

Exterior:

OEM Underbody Kit
Grill Craft Grill

For some videos:
Dyno Runs & one of it blowing up at the race track

I hope to own a lightning soon, hopefully I'll have this sold in a week or two.

its funny our blowers are bigger than a lot of ricer motors....

that prelude is respectable though. any import with 300+hp is cool imo

Yeah 300 + hp is great, ricer, in my opinion is a import that is made to look fast but only has exhaust and a wing plus a body kit. You know, fast and the furious wanabes but never were.
