Need advice on Lightning sale

I listed my L in the classifieds yesterday and received this email later last night.:

HELLO,
WE HAVE A CLIENT INTRESTED IN BUYING YOUR Black 2000 Lightning with 12,500 miles I WILL NEED YOU TO PROVIDE ME WITH THE COST. THE SHIPPING TO SOUTH-WEST LONDON(ENGLAND) WILL BE HIS RESPONSIBILITY. PLEASE RESPOND ASAP.

I answered it and received this one today:

I have informed my client on the cost of the Vehicle and he has advised to pay inform of bank wire transfer. he has requested for your bank details inorder to forward to his bank to effect payment right away.

Please do advise that the car is in good condition and ready to ship. once you confirm payment in your account you would be contacted by the shippers.

What do you guys think of this? Is this for real or someone trying to get my bank info?

Thanks

This is a SCAM !!!!!
I received the same message when I listed mine.
Wait until he tells you how he will send the money to your bank account. He will send more than you are asking for the truck and have you give the excess to a private courier he will send to your house and he will take it to the person who is going to ship your truck to whereever and these funds will pay for that.
If you are gullable enough to give out your bank account number, you will be left holding a worthless wire draft, only after you have given the excess, and your truck to the courier.
RUN away from this as fast as you can.......

Western Union

Sounds liek a scam, but...

Simply go down to your local Western Union and ask them for wire transfer information.

Add their fee to your price and give him the Western Union information. If it's legit, you'll get your money and life will be on it's way.

I would be cautious of this but Coldie couldn't have put it better. Good luck on your sale.

Be very careful! I have heard of many of these overseas scam artist. They will say the just sold something for more than your price and will forward you that if you will be honest enough to send them the rest. They get the truck and cash.

There has been a scam or 2 attempted from the Classifieds here.

Just double check the deal before you jump into it

Even a cashiers check isn't necessarily cash. Wire transfer to a location here in the US that results in cash in your hand with you not having to deposit any "Check" is the only way to go.

I also got the same message when I was selling my old 84 prelude. I only wanted $700 and the guy said it would send me like $2000 or something.
What a scam, I bet he sends and email to every car for sale in the Autotrader. Out of 1000s I'll be some people believe it and send the money.
