As I suspected the prospective "buyer" I had on my Lightning once again called and came up yet another reason not to comfirm if he was going to take it or not. This is after over 2 weeks of playing games with me. Seems money is his problem. He has none.
Needless to say, I informed him that I have changed my mind and that the truck is not available... And to not call again.
After many hours of thinking the whole thing over, I have decided to keep it at least for now...And most likely for a long time to come.

I've debated selling mine to purchase and build up a new Cobra. I haven't sold for that reason and some others. First reason is, it would be hard to give up the truck. Second, too many "deadbeat" prospective buyers.
I had the same experience as yourself Mark. When trying to sell my 99 Lightning before buying the 01. Phone calls up the azz, people with no money, but big dreams, or the even more funnier buyer......the "expert", that last week read an article about the Lightning
Listened to their crap before it became oblivious that daddy was buying them a car /truck for college, but wasn't spending that much money.
In short took a 5K loss to trade it in. In the long run, well worth it

So glad to hear you kept the truck! Hard to believe nobody picked up on it at that price.
I never had an issue selling my '99. The hardest part was finding the True Blue for me to have. I got no haggling on the price as it was very fair to both sides. I had it for sale here, and that's where my buyer came from.... all the way up from Florida.

Congrats on your choice to keep
but Money is money, I dont care if they borrow money from Guido the thug, If Im selling something who ever gives me the cash is gonna get the vehicle. I dont discriminate, trailer folk get the same deal as the gated community folk.

In reality I guess your right. I really like the truck and it would not be real easy to replace something that you can drive to the track, change tires, and run 12.39's and 40's with.
And come to think of it, you really don't see that many "real" ones.
You see all sorts of Mustangs, Camaros, Chevelles, Vettes, and etc. at every cruise-in, car show, and even at the dragstrip. But when it comes right down to it, Lightning are still few and far between.

not in the tampa area they arent...I see at LEAST 1-2 lightnings a day on the way to / from work. I like seeing other Ls around, but they are all to often being driven by some 16 year old punk kid.

I just finished a 2 week vacation out to the East Coast of Canada.
Travelled a total of 3800 miles and I saw 1 Lightning and it was a company work truck at that. They really are few and far between.

glad to hear you are keeping the truck! it's better to have the truck in good hands with someone who appreciates it. Ls are very rare in NJ. a L lives 3 blocks from my house and i never even see him on the road! the trucks are rare beasts that need good homes! if i had the money i'd have a driveway full of them! i have no desire to buy any other vehicle, although a lambo would be nice to toy around with hehe good choice in keepin' the L! i'll NEVER sell mine.
