Hey ****, was wondering if you could give me a detailed description of how you wired your switch chip up to the sunglasses compartment like that. How much did you have to lengthen the wires, what tools are needed, and where you ran the wires (I assume they're out of view). Any info would be great!

Just extend it with some 18 guage speaker wire. I did mine a few years ago as well. Run it up the passenger A-piller and above the headliner. The hardest part is getting the hole drilled in the center (if that is your plan). Super simple.
