Blew A Spark Plug Out Of The Head!!

Hey guys, I posted the earlier thread about the plug gap for the iridiums......the reason I had to change mine were because the other day I day I was driving around 70-75 NO BOOST and blew a plug out of the head!!! Has anybody else had this problem? The reason I ask is because when the guy from the machine shop came to ttry to heat coil the head so I didnt have to replace it, he said they have had several Lightnings come into their shop with this problem. The guy putting on all my mods said these trucks were notorious for this. Just wondered if this had happened to anyone else and wanted to warn everyone. I was told it was a good idea to check the plus about every oil change or so to make sure they are tight. Sucks when a $10 plug costs you $400 in repairs!!!!!!

If you are still under warranty I would take it to the dealership and have ford fix it. Pretty much everybody knows about the spitting plug issue. It happened to me and ford fixed it under warranty

All the 5.4 liter motors have had issues with spitting plugs. Do a search here and you will find dozens of threads on the subject

If you're getting new heads (either out of your own pocket or under warranty), ask for the updated 03 heads with 8 threads. You'll be glad you did
