I think you right on the width of the wheels. Get a digital laser temp reader (whatever their called) and get reading accross the slicks after a burnout.

I did my install during the winter, so there was no hurry. Winter is way different than yours

So what was the results??????????????

Well, wasnt the best day to hit the track. 98F out on my first pass.

Burnout box didnt have enough water, so i began to hop, then let my foot out of it. Made a soft pass to get back to the pits and cool off.

75 Mins later, went out for a second pass. 1.9 60.

Waited another hour, same thing.

What i feel is, the truck hooks for a split second, then spins the slick, then they catch again. Looks like 16X10's for me.

I had found out on the 3rd pass they had scrapped the track down 3 days prior. Everyone was having traction issues, so it looks like i picked the wrong day to head out to the track. It did finally cool off to the high 70's.

Sounds like a better day to check out the talent at the local hOOters. But I've heard, a bad day at the track, is better, than a good day at work.
I guess I'll find out later

Metco instead of Rancho type?

I was thinking of replacing my Truck Traks with the Metco bars (the one's for lowered trucks). How do they compare to the JL, LFP, JDM, Rancho style bars? I will be doing more road racing/ driving school type events than drag racing (twisties kind of pushed the drag strip out of my life). The Metco's look cool! Big brake kit goes on this weekend!

Lots of us use that combo, I DO. 28x10 Hoosiers on 16x8 rims, I have no complaints on that Combo.
(But of course the faster you get the More that becomes an issue)

As for the Bars, there is no doubt the two bars have two differant launch styles. (As witnessed by the Captain watching me and Gator go at it time after time at Cecil).
Gator with the JL Bars and Me with Truck Trak's.
As the Captain saw and explained, Gator's rear would sit down dig in and launch, where my rear would actually jump, (prob from the force of snubber hitting the Chassis with all that torque)
but the end results were actually quite identical. For the ease of installation and strenth of bar (with no clearance issues) I'd say the Truck Traks are a great product for ET cutting and launching.
I've also managed to get a 1.6 or 1.7 each and every time with the Truck Trak's with or without the Nitrous.

here's the comparison of 2 of our runs, the times are dam near identical on the 60's. With Gator having better slicks/rims, suspension work, and the JLP bars, compared to me on stock everything and some Hoosiers with many street and track miles on them, I'd say considering he clearly has the Faster L, my 60ft times and bars proved to be quite a match.
Now If I would only stop waiting to see green before I take my foot off the brake

I'm 66m Gator is 61

Im going to change out my wheels and make a couple more mods. Ive got way to much torque off the line for those little 8 inch wheels. Thanks for the timeslip comparison Robo
