Any Ideas?

well, not totally lightning related, but somewhat. Well my girlfriend got a speeding ticket(in the lightning), but she is only 17 so she was told to either go to court with her parents, or call a number and send in a check with a notarized letter. but she wants to try and not let her parents know, any ideas. does it matter that she got the ticket when she was 17, but will be 18 by her court date? could she go alone then? thanks for any help.

So was she ordered to appear in court? In counties I've been in, you can simply plead guilty and pay an extra fee for court supervision, where the ticket is not put on your ticket as long as you do not get another moving violation in the same county within 3 months. Some counties don't even charge extra for it....all you have to do is ask.

I would contact your courthouse to find out what is needed. Also, if she was ordered to appear in court, I believe she can go alone if she is 18 before her court date.

get a lawyer

Call a lawyer and ask them. Traffic laws change all over the place.

Search on the net for a lawyer. You can always check www.nma.org for recommendations.
