Read up bud, I'm shifting at 5200, not 5000.

I hate it when people don't read threads. I think cyntaxx gets the point. Maybe it's time to get back on subject.

congrats on the reflash!

Hmmm....

Even if I don't dyno at NMRA, Naperville is closer to Joliet than Lafayette. I may just go up there after NMRA....

Cool

Just for future reference the shift at 5200 rpm puts you at 3600 rpm. The shift at 5500 rpm puts you at 3900 rpm.

I once had a program that short shifted at 5200 from first to second and 5500 from second to drive. I had that fixed along the way but here is a video with that program. Watch the tach.

0-110 MPH Video

I agree that 5200 is probably safer on the rods if you are shooting the juice.

Not flaming here but wouldn't a 5200 rpm put you in the "meat" of the power band as well? You would even be in the power band longer since you are starting off at 3600 rather than 3900, although I'm sure the 300 rpms is negligible...

Looking at my dyno graph (which is more detailed than yours), there more than a 20 HP loss from 3900 back to 3600. There is only a 10 HP loss from 5200 to 5500. This is looking at the 2nd pull in red which starts closest to 3600 rpm. I had to interpolate the least amount on the 2nd pull so that's why I used it.

Plus you have the 20+ HP gain in drive but not the 10 HP loss because you don't wind drive past 5200 at the end of the run unless you are making way more HP than we are.

It's all in the math but like I said if spraying then you're better off at 5200. You are going to make more HP anyway and it's less stressful on your rods.

Chuck No flame because your times speak for themselves. Why does your tq fall so fast ? What kinda mods did you have at the time of this dyno ? My dyno slips on a stock truck look very similar to Cyntaxx, only less power and tq.

Cyntaxx What mods did you have at the time of dyno ?

In my experience Ive always yeilded the best ETs shifting a couple hundred rpm over peak HP. Why continue spinning the motor when its no longer pulling, shift and get back into a pulling area.

Also the Yellow Bird
