Just got Lakewood Traction Bars NEED HELP!!

I just got a set of lakewood traction bars for the L. I put them on I can't seem to get the snubber lower I used the spacers like it says still no go. It's maybe just maybe a 1/8in from the spring eye. It's says I should run a 1/2 in for street use. Guys know of any way. Or should I cut the snubber a little.

Would this hurt anything to run it like this.

I took it for a test drive and it seems ok.

Just trim them down, they are cheap enough.

You can get the Lakewoods from Jegs, etc. for under 100 bucks. Make sure to get the truck ones and not the "universal" ones.

Also, some say to change from the grade 5 bolts to grade 8.

Yea the fit is fione besides my snubber is only 1/8 away.

So would you just trim the snubber a little or try to get them down a little more.

Just how far away should they be???? from the eye

Is your truck lowered? I have the Lakewoods on mine and I have a 2" rear drop. I used 4 spacers per side just on the front and I have about a 3/4" gap. Mine rides perfect. So far my best 60ft. is a 1.82 which I know could be better with more practice. I only ran the truck with the bars 4 times.

I just had mine installed a couple of weeks ago and the mechanic cut the snubber down a little at a time until they fit just right. Im happy with them!

Did your brake lines along the rear end housing cause you any problems? Just trim the snubber, that's why they have the steps on them.
