anybody tried CO2 sprayer yet????

Hey guys,

I just got my home made CO2 sprayer done, and tonight for test
and tune at the track, it is looking like a rain out......damm....

Has anyone....with results tried one of these????

I am hoping for 2 tenths????? and 2 mph????

sposta give 30hp???? don't know.....

I do know that there is a WRX at my track that went
13.5 without, and 13.00 with a similiar bought sprayer.

I ordered a complete spray bar with fittings....$80 shipped....
bought a solenoid and fittings off e-bay $60.....had the line,
and bottle........total cost less than $175.
Cool factor and theory is a 10, but I really an anxious to see
some substantial/worthwhile results.

It is still cheaper than a bigger intercooler tank, intercooler
radiator, and has to be colder.

any thoughts....

As a few people have said in the past, which I fully agree with, it probably won't help very much. You are trying to cool a liquid (running through the intercooler) with a gas. The mass difference is very big, meaning you'll get very little cooling. This will work better with an air-to-air intercooler. I'd almost bet that you couldn't measure the difference on a dyno.

i think it would be cool if someone could rig up a unit that would pump a coolant like co2 or refrigant through a system like jl's smaller power cooler, if you had a pump and system like the ac and ran it through the lines that were in the cooler i wonder how it be results wise, i guess it is something simmilar to john colleties new system. just thinking outloud

my thoughts were.....to shoot the intercooler for
10-12 seconds with the truck running right after the burnout.

The fluid is pumping throught the system and -100* CO2 is
spraying directly on the coils and fins of the intercooler tank.

That has to lower temps right?????or am I just a dumb @ss???

I also thought of putting Morosos cool can where my windshield
washer tank was, sort of like JLPs unit. I also want to save $$$.

I just want a trick artificial way to drop 2 tenths without
putting the truck under much more strain.

Powerwise...I guess I am greedy but sensible, or still just a dumb@ss???

thanks guys.

I can't remember if the WRXs are air to air?????

Which is better Air to Air or our set-ups???

later.............

yea the wrx and evo and most import turbos are air to air this is why they use it, to try your theory there are companys who offer compressed refrigants, like qiuck freeze we often use these in testing electronic components. pick up a can and find a small radiator or something of the like, put the fluid in side spray the radiator for a few seconds like 10 or so and record your temp diffrences, keeping in mind that your water in the truck is constantly flowing so if there in a change in temp if it not a signifigant then it sure wont matter on the truck

You can always strap on some nitrous. A small shot would help to cool the charge...
