At least it's RWD.

Which platform is it built off of? Or is it a new one?

Jeez, a lot of work went into just designing the exhaust for the proper sound...

I'll keep my truck, and wave to the new GTO as I pass them hauling a load of 2x4's

You gotta give the engineers kudos for putting forth the effort to getting the sound right. The 60's muscle cars had some of the best sounding exhaust ever.

Holden Monaro

Gang:

It's a Holden Monaro. I've tooled around in one - decent, but nothing to get excited about.

I used to work a lot in New Zealand.

But the GTO has the LS1 engine in it and produces 350hp compared to about 315hp for the Holden Monaro. A few mods and this thing could be pretty dang quick.

I second that...............It sounds downright mean and nasty!!! AWESOME SOUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hopefully it performs as good as it sounds.................The looks don't do it too much for me though................looks like a stretched out version of the Grand Prix

Maybe it has some HP
But look at it

No Thanks, it doesn't even deserve the GTO Name

I think that this perfectly fits the "GTO" name. My dad had a 64 GTO, what many consider to be the very first muscle car. It was "low key" personified. Just a LeMans with some badges and 2 scoops on the hood.... oh, and a huge-arsed engine. If you want to go back to the roots, this is the best way to do it. Take an existing platform, and drop a big engine.
Oh, and that exhaust does sound wicked.

Guapo I agree, there's nothing like an old Goat with a 389 Tri Power Motor, and your right again, it was one hell of a muscle car.
And yes some were nothing more than a Lemans with some extra options.

But when you think of a TRUE GOAT, you think 389 Tri Power or 400 Judge. This new GTO is nothing but an average looking family car with HP. I guess for a family car I would take it, but I much rather have a performance car that looks like a performance car.

Just my opinion though, and I'll admit it has some potential, just not my style, it would be like working a Crysler Sebring

The new GTO looks like a friggin' BMW 330i! A same the venerable GTO came back as a Grand Prix lookalike
