Need a collector gasket

My pass. side collector gasket keeps blowing apart. I have only bought a Mr. Gasket brand that it a plastic type material.

I need a good gasket that will not blow out.

Anyone have any ideas?

Cool

I saw some Mr. Gasket copper collector gaskets at Advance Auto Parts. I don't know how they will seal but look like they would last longer.

Sounds Like you don't have the colector tight enough. You have to get them real tight, and yes that top bolt is a biatch. I have had good luck with my mr gasket collectors.

The only reason you should be eating gaskets is if there is a air leak.

When you replace it, make sure you get a new set of bolts too.

Copper is the only way to go. Get them tight and the will end your problem.

I tried these "dead soft aluminum" collector gaskets based on the suggestion of someone here Ayrton maybe? They have worked great for me. In fact, I tightened them down and drove for a few months and the next time I had the truck up in the air I noticed that one of the bolts had either broken in two or backed out. there were only two bolts clamping the collector to the pipe and the thing still wasn't leaking!

get them here...

hope this helps.

later,
