Thumbs down I refused to listen so I learned the hard way

Back in Feb. of 2001 I bought my Lightning. Soon after buying I got the bug. Got a chip and air kit from Johnny. At the time JL sold Superchips. After the whole thing with JDM and JL I decided to run JDM stuff because I had just spent $400 dollars on a chip and didnt want to lose the privilage of having 2 programs on one chip. So I sent my chip off to JDM. Jim spent several times reburning and trying to get my combination right. I seen him at the events before, hung out with him and his crew. Jim went out of his way to help me with reburns. Then I met one of my friends and he wanted to be a JDM/ Superchips dealer. We took the plunge and got the burner and the chips. Sold the chips and over 20k worth of JDM parts. Jim gave me alot of programs and I bought a few. Things worked out well. Back three months ago I blew my trans for the 2nd time. I called Jim and asked him what parts I should buy and what I should do. Having a mechanical background I feel confident that I can build the trans without a problem. I just wanted to know which parts to buy and what I should do. He wanted me to wait. He said he had a line on some new transmissions from Ford and he wanted me to wait. Being thankful that he would help me out like that I waited. I called back and we decided to meet at WFC so I can get the trans. I drove there and waited. The guy that was supposed to bring the transmissions to Jim never showed. I told Jim that I had to go because I had work early on that Monday morning. I told him to look my best friend (names withheld) and let him bring the trans to me when the guy showed. I called back on my way home round 7pm and Jim informed me that the guy was there. I called my friend and he said he would be looking for Jim. He left the track later when Jim left. He said he asked him again for the trans and Jim said the guy had not showed. I called the shop that following Tuesday and spoke w/ Jim again. I set my roomate up w/ JDM so he can get the cams/dyno thing done with Jim. Jim picked the truck up at WFC. He said when my roomates truck was done and he picked it up then he could bring the transmission back to me. Fast foreward to this weekend. My roomate has his truck and I have no trans. I asked my roomate and he said he asked Jim several times about my trans and he acted dumbfounded I considered myself a good friend/ customer with JDM and today realized that JDM dosent give a crap about me. Im totally disspointed in Jim and myself for believing in him. I dont ask for handouts. I just wanted to know what parts I should buy and ended up missing the best part of the race season waiting on a transmission that never was. Many times I got on the boards and defended Jim and JDM and this is the thanks I get. Well I appreciate the lesson Jim. You are a great tuner and I wish you well.

Another one bites the dust ... Sorry it was so
expensive a lesson. You shoulda listened to
all the people that had the same kinda BS problems
with Jimbo, but as I recall, you ridiculed all of them
(including me!) and defended your idol. Well, welcome
to the club, bub ... Y'all will get the message sooner or
later ...

Keith,

Look there are already three people on here with their popcorn waiting for words.

You and I go back a long way. Had alot of dinners together.
The trans were in St. Louis . Now some of them are at BTS getting rebuilt because all six were take outs.
No sence in giving you a trans. that has to be rebuilt.

If you have the time give me a call at the shop tomorrow.

I can still help you out, but I am not going to give you junk.
I will let how I can help you out tomorrow.

WFC was over 2 months ago, why is he just hearing this now ? What was he going to St Louis to pick up ? Why wasnt this told to any of his buddies who were trying to get his trans ? Seems to me this is either another excuse or once again poor JDM service. To be honest I smell :bs

Dude, i am sorry you lost out on the best part of the season. (in your neck of the woods anyway) If you want to build a killer tranny, a lot of guys can help. Obviously you turn wrenches, as you were wanting to build your own. If you need advice on building the tranny, you can find it. It's your truck man, you are the hot rodder, take charge of your own et. Build your own tranny (and take some of this stuff with a grain of salt) The f150 or any other truck is not limited to one tuners thinking.

EDIT:

Good Luck Man

Might I suggest you call Gregg Evans and get one of his monster boxes? That man knows how to treat people right and with respect.

Good luck dude.

Finally ****, we agree on something..

I have heard nothing good about that guy, but it sure is funny that someone that isnt a supporting vendor on any of the Lightning sites sure does get alot of attention and free publicity from guys like you willing to put his name out there @ no cost to JJ.

If he could, I am sure he would thank you for all the mentions. Maybe he could boost your plasma or something. LOL

Back to the subject at hand.

Sorry to hear about your problems Red, I am sure it will all get worked out. JDM seems to take special care of those that post their experiences online.
