Thumbs down FINALLY got to test new mods.

Went to Atco last night and made four passes. The first three were in 85 degree heat. I waited a couple of hours to make the last one and it was 75. Best pass was my second on a hotlap.
Temp - 85
Humidity - ?? slip read all 0s (but yesterday the air was pretty good in NJ)
60' - 1.9xx
1/8 - 8.3xx
MPH - ??
1/4 - 12.9xx
MPH - 107.xx
Sorry, the time slips are at home.

My previous best was a 12.8 @ 108.92. That was with a #2 lower and less agressive tune (according to Jim), stock plugs.

Back in April I added:

4# lower
1# upper
Gatorback
Denso IT 22s
FTVB
More aggresive race tune programmed by Jim.

According to my Lunar boost gauge, I'm making consistent #14 of boost.

So with the combo of the existing mods, here's everything:

Cat back - Magnaflow - JDM
FTVB - deep pan
Lakewood traction bars
Comp. Eng. D.S. loop
Denso IT 22 - .041
Boost Bypass - JDM
Cold Air induction kit - JDM
JDM Single blade throttle body
JDM electric fan kit
Cobra water pump - JDM
Ford racing breather cap
Super chips flip chip - Tuned by Jim
Lunar boost gauge
#4 lower - interchangeable - JDM
#1 upper - JLP
Gatorback belt
2" drop shackles

I run full race weight on F1s - 4860 lbs. (more now with the loop, traction bars) I had a little less than a 1/4 tank of 94 which I added 5 gallons of 104 to when I got to the track.

Does the 12.9 @ 107 with a 1.9 60' sound about right for 85 degrees?

Thanks,

Not-so-happy Dan

Dan

For that heat I think thats the best you can expect.

yes your off, S/B prob @ 12.6 give or take,
but this heat kills.
Thats why I won't even atttempt a pass right now,
I'm waiting for the colder weather

I think you should be Happy with that for the Heat
CONGRATS

You mean 12.9's, but I was running 12.9's at FFW in Gainesville with 90+ heat, and 90~100% humidity. On similar mods, just less boost(3 pounds)

I was hoping to be a little faster than 12.6. In the cooler air, of course.

Oh well, not happy, but I'll have to wait until the Fall I guess.

Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to do some time on a dyno too. I haven't had it tuned at all.

Thanks.

Dan

Temp, humidity, and weight are big factors. You can run in race trim, in 40 degree weather at hi 11's and then in full street trim in the heat, run mid to upper 12's.
I'd hit the dyno and check your numbers, curves, and a/f. Might just need to wait a little while.

yup

your numbers seem right on line Dan.

My 2000 with same mods except 2lb lower on street tires ran a 12.82, backed it up twice.

Added a 4lb lower and slicks, and had a custom tune done, which added significan power, and my best runs were in the 12.96-12.98 range.

I'm hoping for 12.5's when the colder air comes back.

You know what Dan your right
I ran "backed up" 12.7's + 12.8's at differant tracks with just a Filter-chip-n-4lb pulley + T/B ""NO NITROUS"" On Hoosiers (but I do also have 12.8's on the F-1's)
So considering I wasn't using my 1-2lb upper at the time and I don't have Cat Backs, FVTB, Fans, or Cobra Pump your right, you should have well over 20 to 30 or more HP more than me, and should be able to run 2-3 tenths better than my 12.7's

Wait for the cooler weather, You'll be Happy with the results
But for now
CONGRATS,
a 12 sec daily driver in the heat of the summer is nothing to be pissed off at

Also, take into consideration my trap when I ran before the mods I installed in April = 12.8 at closer to 109 (108.92).

I realize that was in cold air. We'll see what happens in the Fall.

Well, I guess I should put things into perspective. At least I got to make some passes. mrinaldi was on his way down and stopped at Sunoco on 206. Tells the guy, fill it 94. He happens to look at the pump after a few and the guy chose regular 87

By the time he noticed, 13 gallons were pumped. He put another 5-6 of 94, but that's not good. Needless to say, he didn't run and now needs to baby around for the duration of a full tank. He verbally a$$ raped the guy, which was more than deserved.

I suggested he drive around in 1st gear for the day to get rid of the crap.

Yikes. Another reason why I pump my own gas!

Except this is New Jersey, where it's illegal to pump your own One of the stupidest laws in the world... of course, coming from the worst state in the country (PA's armpit). I've gotten my share of surprises when I ask for 93 and see that they filled up both of my tanks with 87 Not to mention my CC# stolen by the gas attendant and used for an extra $50 of purchases...

Bah... dang picture limit message

Wow, I did NOT know that! I honestly wouldn't want someone to pump my gas for me, even for free! I am usually careful about the fuel cap (not the door) and I make sure it doesn't scratch the paint below the fuel door, etc...stupid **** stuff I'm sure a gas station jockey could give two sh*ts about...
