Went to Track Sat. Night...

Hey guys... well... got a late call from my friends at Extreme... guess Firebird was open on Sat. Night... they said... Schotz... wanna take a pass in our Twin Turbo Vette... uhh... of Course!!!

So... had to make up a lame lie to the wife... lettin' her know I 'had' to go to the track to help some friends make a pass in the new vette... (while sneaking my 5 gals. of Race Fuel, and Set of ET Streets (thanks to 02JSVT) in the back of the truck!)

So... booked it over to Firebird... w/ the new JDM Chip installed... temps were 109-111 (No ****!!!)... trucks first pass... not even cooled down was 13.08 @ 103.5 w/ a 1.89 60' (didn't heat the tires up enough)... then I tried to let it cool for about 50 minutes... but it was still 109 outside and it was 8:30!!!... truck went 13.11 @ 103.29... spinning again... to a 1.90 60'... (I was running 16Psi in the tires... but there was a 20+ MPH head wind!! No kidding... and I practically had to steer the truck right & left to go STRAIGHT!!!

I said... screw it... I know the chip is working great... it should have ran 12's... but it wasn't going to cool down... let's dump the JDM... put the Hypertech in and see what it runs (should be slower by SOTP)... well... 40 minutes after re-programming w/ the Hypertech... a MASSIVE dust Storm blows in... and they CANCEL the EVENT!!!

So... again... I didn't get to make back to back runs!!!:mad2:

But the JDM feels great... I should have launched harder... but the head wind was horrible!

Peace!

Dave

Even a bad night at the track is better than a good day at work

Glad to hear that your truck problems seem to be worked out. There's got to be a night that Mother Nature cooperates.
I must admit, I was disappointed that there wasn't a report on the pass with the TT Vette

How would you know?

Schotz - 110 deg heat, hot lapped and a 13.08 is pretty f'in good in my book.
