Well I now belong, sort of (long)
Well after two years of waiting for the finances to work out everything took a big fat dump about three weeks ago. I had been seriously looking at going further into debt and getting a new DSG L. Instead we recieved a notice in the mail that the bank is going to try and foreclose on our house (long story) and I made a rather rash, not well thought out decision and went down to the dealer and purchsed a new 2003 Twilight blue (true blue for you L guys) Focus sedan. So I now belong to the Ford family just not an L. I did it to save about 200-250 bucks a month on insurance, gas and payments that I was making on my Dakota.
The car so far has been fun to drive. It has the 2.0L 4 cyl Zetec motor and the 5 speed manual tranny. I forgot how fun it was to drive a stick.
Now, does anyone else here own a Focus? I wanted to find out if anyone was having any problems that I might expect to experience. So far the only problem was that my A/C was not connected but that was easly fixed.
I have already started to get the mod bug as the car lacks the power that my Dakota had. I would like some of your opinions or experiences with some of the mods available. I was looking at either saving for the Jackson racing supercharger system or saving for a turbo system. So far what I have found suggests that the turbo might be the way to go for the power to dollar ratio. I could also use some suggestions on any good aftermarket exhaust systems? I have looked and they are all of the coffee can type. Any help you could lend would be greatly appreciated.
All I hope is that things will turn around in the next year or two and I can upgrade to the next generation L. Sorry if this was a little long and off topic with the L's but I like this place more than any of the Focus forums that I have found, and respect your opinions.

No offense but focus on your home before mods. Looks like your on the right track saving $$ with the new ford. Your "future" Lightning isn't going anywhere, it will be there when things get better.
