Which Chip should I go with?
Which Chip should I go with?
I am having trouble choosing which chip i should by, either the JDM Flip Dual Program Chip or the JLP Diablo Delta Chip. For all you expert users out there, which one is the best for your money? Oh and are the chips easy to install?
i prefer the autologics because of the on the fly program switching, i hear the diablo deltas can do that too though. they are pretty easy to install, just remove the computer clean the contacts and tape the chip in

I'm partial to Diablo but it's not the Chip that matters,
It's not even always the Tuner that matters,
IT'S WHAT YOU WANT
ASK FOR
AND GET THAT MATTERS
And yes you can switch on the fly with Diablo,
I do it all the time
Know what you wan't before hand
and you'll save yourself countless re-burns
Rem is a Great Company,
and so is JLP PSP JDM ETC....

Does anyone have a step by step install of a diablo delta chip?...i've decided thats what i'm going to go with. If you could include pictures that would be great as well. Thank you

Step One
After removing the ECU from the vehicle, remove the 6 screws holding the cover in place using a 5.5 mm socket (most cases). Remove the top and bottom cover, exposing the circuit board.
Step Two
"Most Important Step, please follow directions carefully!"
EEC-V With both sides of the J-3 port connector surface exposed, carefully scrub the film off the connectors using the supplied scotchbrite pad. Visually inspect the surface for any residue on the contacts, one good tip is to look at the connector with a light shining on it, any spot that does not reflect the light has residue on it. Wipe the connectors with the alcohol pad to remove any dirt after using the scotchbrite pad.
EEC-IV With both sides of the J-3 port connector surface exposed use a clean rage to remove the excess of the grease covering the connectors. Carefully scrub the connectors using the supplied scotchbrite pad. Visually inspect the surface for any residue on the contacts, one good tip is to look at the connector with a light shining on it, any spot that does not reflect the light has residue on it. Wipe the connectors with the alcohol pad to remove any dirt after using the scotchbrite pad. Once visually inspected, reassemble the ECU. DO NOT USE EXCESSIVE FORCE WHEN SCRUBBING THE CONNECTION! THIS WILL MAKE THE CONNECTION TOO THIN, THUS CAUSING THE CHIP MODULE TO HAVE POOR CONNECTION.
Step 3
With ECU assembeled, insert the chip onto the connector and make sure the fit is tight.
(some ECU's require modification of the chip in order to clear some components inside the ECU. Using a good side-cutter, cut the section above the ablong hole, make sure to make the cut above the end of the circuit board. The same board requires you to bend a component to the side for clearance, please be very gentle when doing so.)
Step 4
With the chip installed, tuck the Diablosport label inside the ECU and attach the provided cover label.
Step 5
Reinstall the computer back in the vehicle and enjoy the ride!
Confused yet, don't worry when you buy the chip the instructions with pictures will be included.
Good Luck

My computer's only been out that first time to clean the terminals.
I didn't even take the screws off, I simply did it with the included scotch brite pad they sent. After that it's all of 30 seconds to bend down on the passenger side and take it in and out

I went with JDM because they had a "2 free reburn" policy. Well I sent my chip back to get it reburned and they didn't want to do it because i didn't get something from them. Well, I got it back and it didn't work.
So I sent it again a month ago and still haven't gotten it back. Customer service is a plus and I think I'll take my money elsewhere.
They should put a * next to the free reburn, to try to make them happy I was gonna buy some denso's but they said that didn't qualify
. Otherwise not honoring the free reburn ~gimick~ is false advertising.
